Connection Corner News: November Update 2015

Change in seasons: Let it help you take advantage of indoor learning
I know the temperatures are lowering but remember this - colder and darker weather can also be a chance to reflect on new goals or dreams you would like to manifest; it’s also a great time to stay cozy at night and do some indoor and on-line learning. See my link below for great courses from MindValley Academy. Of course, if you like to dress up and explore the city offering’s, check out a new dining event co-founded by one of our CC Members:

New Interactive Dining Experience:

Looking for a unique interactive dining experience, our own Stephanie Blok is co-founder of 360 Gourmet, an evening of bespoke culinary delights paired with custom-tailored spirits. Their first event was a 4 course adventure prepared by Chef Marion Graham and mixed cocktails from Mixologist Jeremy J Parsons. And, you don’t leave empty-handed at these get-togethers – you go home with all the recipes and specialty ingredients as well as 10% discount for next event. More information can be found at: or email Stephanie directly at:

MEMBERS HELPING MEMBERS: Thank you to Maureen Farrell

It's wonderful to hear about members who take the time for others and a shout out to Maureen Farrell (bio here: who gave CC Member Sandra Pakosh a chance to job shadow her and learn about her environment. Maureen is a Savings By Design Senior Program Manager at Sustainable Buildings Canada: It has been a busy year for Sustainable Buildings Canada delivering the Unbridle Savings By Design Program - which was nominated for a Canadian Green Building Council (GTA) Sustainability Innovation Award. The program has recently been approved by the Ontario Energy Board for another five years.

Educational Resources for on-line personal development

As mentioned before, staying inside can be educational, so here's a little something for those who enjoy learning:
As well, I love MindValley Academy for self-development courses too, and this month the organization is hosting Food Matters TV Life - free documentaries for a limited time:

And, last but not least, Thank you to all members who participated in World Kindness Day - it was amazing to see the on-line interaction for #spreadthekindness and proud to welcome more Kindness Ambassadors who believe in the message for corporations and schools. Unfortunately, we also had the sadness of the Paris tragedy during the day of kindness so let us continue to send healing wishes and prayers for that beautiful country. It was very moving to see the positive power of social media coming together to send love towards hate and hope towards anger.

How can we be most helpful?

CC is a warm and welcoming group that is here to empower each member on their respective life and career journeys. Hope you can reach out to support other members you read about today, and always know you can reach out to me to let me know how I can help you in your life and career goals as a Connection Corner Member:
