Speaking with students: A visit to George Brown

I had recently had the privilege of visiting George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology, a public, fully accredited college,  as a Life and Career Coach to talk about Personal Vision and Core Values.

Nutritionist and Author, Ara Wiseman, who teaches a wellness class at the college, invited me to share why it's important.

Free Agents: New Reality

Many young people will switch jobs and relationships especially in their 20's and I believe it helps to know your vision of what you would like and also work to understand and honor your core values too. Why? Because it can be the difference between being a branch blowing in the breeze and a tree rooted firmly in the ground.

Life is challenging enough, and it can be a lot easier to navigate if you have clarity on the type of person you want to be and, also, take time to figure out your core values too. I love sharing the 'Unsung Hero' video to demonstrate the important of knowing what you believe in, no matter what others say or do about your beliefs.

Ultimately, it was about sharing that no matter what happens in their lives and careers, it's always important to feel grounded where you stand and follow your own drummer not the beat of someone else.
